What is a tour guide audio system?
It's a wireless set that lets a guide talk to a whole tour group without shouting.
Guides use them every day at sites across Israel. The guide speaks into a small transmitter, and every guest hears the voice live in a receiver.
These sets are also called whisper systems or tour guide headset systems. With GoWired, the receiver is a light, hands-free earpiece that hooks over one ear.
How is GoWired different from other whisper systems in Israel?
Almost all systems hang a receiver box on a lanyard and connect it to wired headphones alongside many other items that a person has around their neck.
GoWired is a single earpiece: nothing around the neck, no cables and nothing to hold.
The guide's transmitter has a landmark laser pointer and one button that switches off every receiver at once.
Important to mention, GoWired is approved by the Israel Ministry of Communications to be used commercially by Groups, tour guides, and tours agencies.
Do guests need their own headphones?
No. The hands-free earpiece is the receiver. Guests hook it over one ear and they're ready.
Will my tour group hear me at busy sites in Jerusalem, like the Western Wall or the Old City markets?
Yes. Your voice goes straight into every guest's ear, so you can speak at a normal volume over crowds, traffic and wind.
In long-range mode, guests who drift away while shopping or taking photos still hear you up-to 100 meters.
Can I use it at quiet holy sites and churches?
Yes. At churches and holy sites across the Holy Land, you can speak very softly and your group still hears every word, so you don't disturb worshippers or other groups. Short-range mode keeps the sound within your own group.
Is the equipment clean?
Every receiver is sanitized after every rental, before it reaches your group.
How do I charge the equipment?
The transmitter and the earpieces all charge by USB. Most guides charge everything overnight at the hotel so it's full for the next day.
Is it hard to use?
No setup is needed. Switch on the transmitter, hand out the earpieces and start talking. At the end of the day, one button on the transmitter switches every receiver off.
Can I rent a tour guide system for one day or for a whole tour?
Both. Rent for a single day trip in Jerusalem, a week-long tour of Israel or a multi-week pilgrimage through the Holy Land.
